Uffe Holmskov is Head of Institute (Institute of Molecular Biology) and Professor of immunology at SDU. He has a long experience in research management and has initiated research within both animal models of gene deficiency and SP-D and MFAP4 biomarker monitoring in disease.

Grith L Sørensen is associate professor with long-standing experience with SP-D-deficient mice and measurement of serum SP-D in clinical association studies. She will manage the project coordination, biomarker assays, and genotyping working packages.

Anders Schlosser is postdoctoral laboratory manager and has produced gene-deficient mice including the MFAP4-deficient mice. Moreover, he is highly experienced in molecular biology and protein chemistry essential for the basic studies.

Jens Søndergaard is a general practitioner and clinical pharmacologist and Professor and Head of the Research Unit for General Practice at the University of Southern Denmark. He is experienced in conducting research involving large cohorts of patients and general practitioners. Further, he is supervisor for a number of PhD-studies on COPD and other chronic diseases.

Jørgen Vestbo is a clinician with a well-established international network. He is a Professor of respiratory medicine at the universities of Copenhagen and Manchester (UK) and at both workplaces he has vast experience in working with patient cohorts, with proper clinical characterisation of COPD patients for clinical research, and international collaborations.

Jan Sørensen is a health economist and Programme Manager at the Centre for Applied Health Services Research and Technology Assessment. He is very experienced in the field of health economics and project management, including register-based health economic research.

Frans Boch Waldorff is a general practitioner and professor at the Research Unit for General Practice at the Department of Public Health at University of Southern Denmark. He heads the PROTECCT-M, which is a cohort-study. The primary goal of the study is to investigate new biomarkers’ importance in order to make prognosis of COPD in general practice.

Ingrid Louise Titlestad is consultant physician at Department of Respiratory Medicine, Odense University Hospital. She is experienced in clinical research as well as in more basal research, and has conducted several multicenter trials witin COPD treatment.

Helle Wulf Johansson is post doc at Institute for Molecular Medicine, University of Southern Denmark. She is working with cigarette smoke induced COPD-like phenotypes in genetically modified mice and search for novel COPD biomarkers using the animal models.

Anne Trommelholdt Jepsen is phd-student at Institute for Molecular Medicine, University of Southern Denmark working with elastase induced emphysema in genetically modified mice and molecular characterization of biomarkers.

Sofie Lock Johansson is phd-student at Institute for Molecular Medicine, University of Southern Denmark. She is responsible for the BIOPREX cohort study and for the measurement of biomarkers in additional COPD cohorts.
